Company Profile

Swimming Instinct was launched in 2004 by Bermudian Mandy Oatley Wells. Mandy returned to the island in June 2003 after studies and working abroad. Previously, Mandy had run Harbourkids - Harbour Swim Club's summer learn to swim program.

Mandy has nearly twenty years experience in swimming tuition and was a competitive swimmer. The competitive background has shown her the importance of teaching technically correct whether the aim is for fitness, recreation or competition.

While living abroad, Mandy had a key role in the development of one of the UK's largest and most innovative swimming schools. Many of the techniques used by Swimming Instinct have grown out of Mandy's 4 years of experience in London.

In September 2006, Mandy gave birth to her first child and is absolutely loving motherhood. She has used her experiences with her son to develop a program designed specifically for the youngest of swimmers.

Mandy has an undergraduate and postgraduate degree in music education and hopes to have time for teaching Kindermusik some time in the next few years.
